2/9 He was able to get his surgery!!!!!
HUGE update everyone.
So this morning Dori received a phone call from the vet that someone called and made a $500 donation!! We were able to get him into surgery today as a space opened and we half of the funds needed to pay them(they needed half up front).
THEN we heard back from the Heigl Foundation whose extremely generous contribution covered the rest of the funds needed!!! Oh my gosh we were crying!!
Renny was in surgery for 3.5 hours...a long time... unfortunately his leg was so badly broken that they couldn't get the pins in properly and had to amputate his leg:(. We were upset, but it spares him the second surgery that would of been needed to remove the pins. He also now only has to be in the hospital tonight instead 2-3 nights, so overall this will be much easier on him and dogs adapt quite well to life on 3 legs<3
Because they aren't going to have to do the second procedure and as many follow ups his treatment is going to come in under the 3k estimate! We'll know the final price tomorrow, and updated the Heigl Foundation so the unused portion of their donation can go towards another animal in need:)
Dori picks him up tomorrow and I'll post photos for everyone.
I really can't thank everyone enough for making this possible for Renny. I really don't know what to say, it's just amazing the outpouring of love for this little pup in need.
Thank you so so much again,
AFA J'aime, Dori and most of all Renny who received a chance at life<3
